I always got a lot of gifts... socks, day-of-the-week underwear, nightgown, robe and/or slippers, crayons, a hat, scarf or mittens mom knit for me. I remember when I finally, finally got the box of 64 crayons--all of those beautiful colors.
Mom was a terrific seamstress and made some wonderful clothes for my dolls. One year I got a miniature tea set with tea pot, sugar and creamer, cups and saucers. I had tea parties with the baby doll and a couple of stuffed animals. The dog was hoping we dropped a cookie.
I probably wanted some plastic thing more, but I fondly remember these gifts of love.
Weren't those lovely memories... oh how the times have a changed!
