I'm so old I remember... Pencils & Manual Pencil Sharpeners.. and Black Boards with real chalk & erasers that every kid had to clean... and a slip and nails dragging on the chalk board.. and using your desk as a bomb shelter.. as a kid we believed the desk would protect us when the building feel down after the nuclear blast
With the deluge of rain the ladt couple of days reminded me of going to the drive in theatre on sat night even when it was raining.
This was in the late 1950/60 yrs.
Loaded the kids into the station wagon...threree pieces of lumber and a large piece of cardboard. Kept the rain off the windshield while many had their wipers going.....such memories.
I remember patching innertubes with a patch you lit on fire first with a match.

Some wishes or dreams come true.
Edit. Top it off both were the same color..YELLOW
I'm looking for slow cooker recipes and that reminds me of the time slow cookers first came out. Not that it was so long ago, probably back in the 70s. My boyfriend was excitedly trying to convince my mother how great they were and that she should get one. I can't remember if she ever did or not--never needed one before, didn't need one then!
I'm so old I remember... Sitting around the fondue pot with friends.. eating & drinking wine and listening to Simon & Garfunkel new releases.
