Woodrow. You make me feel young! Rationing? I only remember my mom still having some of the stamps.

But I do remember crystal radio sets. I built one in the early '60s that worked like a champ.

I remember when I first learned to drive on an old Ford Pick up with the starter on the floor. Right foot on the brake and gas, left foot holding down the starter, then after the engine fired, trying to get it in gear and back up out of the shed without stalling, or letting it roll into the workbench.
