I'm so old I remember... A&W Root beer stand and the gals on roller skates.. and the " TRAY" that hung off the window for your food.. and the little stabilizer arm against the door. Now a days with the glass curved it does not work as good as the old days with the flat glass..
You and your date.. 2 big burgers - 2 fries - 2 Frosty Mugs of A&W $3-4 bucks and the " MUGS" were real glass
^^ I remember the waitress on roller skates at A&W - the place was always packed with teenagers driving muscle cars, blasting rock n roll from their car 8-track.
The best part was the waitress kinda crashing in to the car a bit with the order and the little holders on the tray for the window never fit properly - too wobbly, but that was all part of the charm of going there.
We use to order the teen burger along with the root beer float in the frosty glass mug
The Best Times
I remember, when really young, watching Roller Derby on TV and the "Halo Shampoo" girls skating around singing the Halo Shampoo Song. (It was cheap shampoo that my mom wouldn't buy since it really stripped your hair)
In the 1930 period mom had the bread toaster that had thetwo doors. Thebread would toast on one side only and when you opened the door the bread would drop and turn over to toast the other side.did take a while. Cannot recall the bread being burnt or dried out. I did experience having a grownup coffee of half milk and coffee as.a little boy. Hey i was just about 5 or 6 when visiting family on the farm.a big. Thing those days
