I'm so old I remember... Erector Set by Gilbert - The Atom by Gilbert that had real radioactive chamber - Hula Hoop - Cap Guns - and rolled caps - and my biggest surprise as a kid one year in my stocking was this thing called a " Orange" never had one and never tasted one.
I not only remember Dick Lane I remember the Olympic Auditorium in L.A. the site of those broadcasts. There was a mural of two boxers on the outside. It was a huge box of a building with no a/c. It was permeated with the smell of sweat from a thousand boxers, wrestlers and ........ Ralphie Valladares of the L.A. T-Birds the greatest of all roller derby champions!!

Some functions were my parents works at a Hospital for the Criminal Insane.. and it's was employees picnic day in the park as I remember.. I was a wee lad a shin kicker
I wore a. Uniform in 1945. My unit picture is on the wall along with those from North Korea combat zone. One shows our bunker and the spot where a mortor exploded 30 ft from where i was standing and releaving myself. Such fond memories.
