Anne Hathaway & James Franco hosting the Oscars tonight. Not sure how if I get that pick, but it might be interesting to see. She overacts a little much for me & I only know James Franco from Batman.

But it is fun to see the dresses in the beginning. I think Michelle Williams is beautiful; love her pixie cut; & am interested to see what she wears. A few yrs ago, she wore a beautiful yellow dress w/ Heath Ledger & it is still one of my favorites.

Off to Nordstroms to do some returns. I love that place. I'll pay an extra $20 for the customer service, cleanliness and openness of the store.

Morning everybody! Hiccups: Lie down on a bed. Or couch. Keep your legs and feet on the bed but hang your upper body and head off the side of the bed so your head and lungs are lower than your pelvis and feet. Breathe in and out a few times. I've found it usually works.

We had a good storm last night. Looks like the hills got snow but the clouds are too low to tell. I'm looking forward to the Oscar broadcast. The champagne is in the fridge and the snacks are ready. I'm thinking of watching the L.A. stations on line as they start coverage of the arrivals and dresses much earlier.

I'm impressed with your making an event of Oscar night!

My sister used to have Miss America parties. Any reason to throw a party was a good reason for her.

I've been sending a daily email to my friend in New Zealand for a week and a half now. He usually responds immediately. I'm worried.

I grew up in a movie-loving house and my Mom always made Oscar night a big party. Then I married DH who's in the business and we have family and friends in the business so Oscar night is a big deal. We cheer!

My brother and SIL are coming over. He and DH will discuss the technical awards ad nauseum. Luckily DH is a bit of a fashionista so he'll also watch the red carpet with us to see who is wearing what. I'll admit it: We gets down right catty.

I'm not sure their internet has been 100%. Maybe that's why you haven't heard from her? What town is she in?

My cousins in Christchurch tell me they have internet access via their cell phones, but not residential yet. I'm sure that's probably what it is.

Not sure where in New Zealand your friend is, but my husband has a cousin in Tauranga, and they are fine there. Can you Google your friend and get an address or phone number?

Yeah I seriously have to stay aware from that health and beauty forum. So many of those posters are alone, completely obsessed with themselves, and miserable. Oh...and shallow....

I have very fair red-head skin without the red hair (thanks grandma), and oodles of sun-damage from my childhood. My husband loves me, not my skin. If people choose to judge me by my skin, I very much doubt we would have had any type of friendship to begin with.
