How do you deal with tweens wanting to wear too tight clothes without making them self conscious.
Gimme it, while it is GROSS, people can have all the thoughts that they want as long as they keep them to themselves.

I had no problem whatsoever, making daughter conscious of the fact that guys were "checking her out". "Don't look now sis, but that creepy old guy is checkin' you out. Wow, you could land yourself someone MY age if you wink just right!" "MOM!!! That's GROSS! Don't even say that!" "Okay, well, you might want to show just a little less cleavage next time then."

My daughter was pretty darn careful about what she wore, but so was I. We still looked plenty feminine without wearing skin tight, cleavage showing "in heat" clothing. Did/do we still get looks? Yes, but not generally the same kind of looks. You can generally tell by the look on a guy's face whether they're getting a stiffie, or just appreciating you...if you're close enough, you can even see their pupils dilate!

Gimme...your job is to make your daughter aware and to keep her SAFE. If you've got to use a little shock factor/humor, so be it. My daughter and I are best friends and most of that is due to the fact that she trusts me completely! She always has. Be your daughter's mom, but you can also be the person she trusts and respects more than anyone else in this world. It's okay to tell your daughter that there are frickin creepers out there...it's the God's honest truth!

But there isn't anything wrong with skinny jeans though. Females jeans aren't supposed to be baggy, they are supposed to fitted.

And why are you seriously paying THAT much attention to or caring what everyone else thinks?

Honestly I can walk into the mall and not even pay attention to ANYONE anythere, if anyone looked at me funny or any guy stared at me, I wouldn't know it, because I don't care enough about those peoples opinions to pay enough attention to them.

Sounds like too many people are worried about everyone else.

I don't get why so many women care what other guys are thinking.
So what if some guy has inappropriate thoughts about you? YOU can't hear his thoughts, you don't even know when it happens so why be so hung over something that doesn't directly affect you?

I am actually with you on this one. That strikes me as one small step away from burka wearing. Men are responsible for their thoughts and actions. I would not advocate being ignorant or unwise. But 80s high wasted jeans look like poo. I think that skinny (ankles) look dorky too. But that is my fashion fail, not a commentary on appropriate dress.

I personally think women in baggy saggy jeans look trashy. They look ill-fitting and saggy and it looks like they don't care about themselves enough to buy jeans that fit them right.

Same goes for jeans that are too tight that women look shoved into and are muffin topping over.

Jeans should fit snug but you shouldn't be pouring over them and they should be loose enough to move around in but not looking like you have diaper jeans. You know that saggy ass look jeans have on some people, same goes for womens swim suits, the bottoms get saggy and doopy and it looks like a full diaper.

They don't care what men are thinking about them. They care what they are thinking about their 13 yo daughter.

that is your opinion. nothing more. And AGAIN we're talking about young girls. I think the one in this story was 12. There is a difference between fitting right and being too tight.
