I did it all through college and for several years after. It was quite nice when someone said they weren't registered and couldn't vote I could whip out the forms and say, "I can help you with that."
In Australia, it's compulsory to vote at Federal and State elections and, in some States, also at Local Council elections. It's only compulsory to turn up and mark your voting paper - if you want you can scribble "Elvis is King" on your voting paper (it isn't ID'd back to you) - it's perfectly legal to do that. If you know you won't be around on Polling Day or if you're incapacitated, you can do a postal vote. There are Polling Stations everywhere (usually all the local schools, plus hospitals often have a Polling Station on site). Some candidates hire mini-buses to pick up voters.
There's a fine for not voting (not much, maybe $50), but I'm not sure how much effort the electoral people put into chasing non-voters. Plus you can offer some worthy excuse and be let off the fine pretty easily.
NE - Are you on a liquid diet then? I hadn't thought of that. It must be very difficult.
(I shouldn't have looked at this thread. Now I'm going to have that song in my head all night. Again.)
I was for 3 weeks, Dew, and supposed to be on soft foods diet only now (mashed potatoes, mac & cheese) but eating food I am not supposed to steak, burgers, fries, veggies- by cutting them up very very small so I don't have to chew them
I didn't re-register to vote in time after moving, so I can't vote in the primaries (not like it matters anyway.) No way am I missing the general election, though. Of course, it's not like my vote matters living in this state.

If I registered to vote my senior year of high school and I haven't moved states (ive moved twice since registering) do I need to register with my new address and all?
And I don't even know who to vote for.
Well I do but he won't win, although we trust an unknown (obama) and I think this guy is progressive and money smart enough he could pull us out of our mess and there's no other dems running besides obama and I won't vote republican.

I believe so, yes. Voting materials are sent to your address, and your polling location is based on where you live--for example, a church or school in your neighborhood.
