Honestly with the way these idiots drive nowadays I wouldn't blame a parent for carrying a two or three year-old while walking through a parking lot.

Do you feel that you became a better person because you were never carried as soon as you could walk as a baby? What question were you trying to get answered here?

Very debatable. Flat out inaccurate in fact. There was MORE crime, including child abduction in the 1940s, but no one had a TV so they felt more safe.

Some people really ARE curious about this stuff w no hidden agenda.

Yes... yes they have.

Did you never carry your child?

Not being judgmental. We chose not to be parents, frankly because we would have been less than ideal in that role. Good parents are worth their wgt. in gold; I had two of them.

No offense intended.

I don't have kids myself.. But i've seen enough of them go boneless to know the answer to this question.

If you're seen dragging your child across the floor of the cereal aisle.. That looks bad.

I would still wear my 6yr old in a Mei Tai Carrier if i had to.

I loved carrying my children.

You can move a lot faster if you're carrying a child rather than letting them walk. They tend to dwaddle a lot. If they are moving fast, it is usually towards some place you don't want to go.

Haha. Not arguing with you OP but what else do you recall from 18 months old?

I didn't carry my kids around too much unless they just got tired of walking and I didn't have a stroller.

OP, I would say most parents, even petite once, carries their children every once in a while. If you were a parent you would understand. You can also use a stroller if a child is too heavy.

You said you "were told" that at 18 months you just up and walked, but can remember on your own never having been picked up after that point in time?

My child can run around for hours, and then go from 60 to 0 in under a second, and when he hits 0, I'm picking him up or we're sitting down and not going anywhere until he's rested. Kids are like that, no matter how active they are. They're full of beans until they're not.

Parents carrying their toddlers and young children has nothing to do with childhood obesity.
