I don't get sad over it. Their parents (and other older relatives) lived long, healthy lives. I suspect my parents will live at least 30 more years, and live them well.
Does it ever make you sad that your parents are getting older?
No. My mother died many years ago and my father is an older absentee dad who is a complete and total (insert any possible insult one can give to a rich flaky father). So, it makes me happy to know that he will be dead, probably soon, having chosen to ignore his loving, accomplished daughter. Sorry, I guess that wasn't a politically correct answer. But at least it's the honest one.
I prefer Gen Y but yeah, sad my parents are getting old. My dad doesn't seem to have changed much but my mum looks so much older in the last few years. I'm terrified of them dying as I don't know who will take care of my brother then, I don't think he can cope by himself.
My mom is 51, I don't really think of her as old yet.
I am aware she is long as young as she used to be and its starting to show but it hasn't gotten to the point I'm sad yet.
Though in their 60's they are still in good health and going strong, why would I be sad?
