Your only possible good point is the bolded, and I say possible because that matter is between Senator Fetterman and his family and does not raise concerns to me about Senator Fetterman’s character or ability to lead. Perhaps this was a pre-planned vacation, and Senator Fetterman insisted that Mrs. Fetterman and the kids go away and have a nice time (I suspect it’s something along those lines). Maybe Mrs. Fetterman is an evil shrew who cares not a whit for her husband’s welfare (I don’t suspect this, but it’s theoretically possible and would hardly defy the laws of physics if true).

Regardless, I really don’t care.

That aside, what part about being a member of a national officeholder’s immediate family means that they can only go on vacation in the state the officeholder represents? If so, I pity poor David Cicilline, who can’t even escape the shackles of Rhode Island to take a long weekend in Provincetown.

Apparently voting for someone that doesn't even live in Pennsylvania is okay, but a senator's wife merely visiting another story is scandalous!

So you don't care because why? You don't want to admit you were wildly wrong in voting for someone that never worked and lived off his republican parents till late 40's? Do you really think someone that has done nothing all their lives can lead a state? He will be sick for his whole term or be propped up by a few people to pretend all is okay.

What are people thinking voting for someone that not only isn't nearly qualified, but has no real WORK experience at all. NONE! He is what your party came up with? He is in very poor mental and physical health. He has no idea what he is doing as he has no real life experience other than laying on a couch. How can anyone think this person can do anything at all?

Yeah, but you were correct in. your vote. I mean he is such a great candidate. WOW. What are people doing? Seriously what? You can't pick someone worse than this clown. He is a joke. Wonder if he can complete a sentence before his term is up? Don't worry, even if he can't our moronic state will vote him in again. We are that dumbed down.

Here is the wonderful thing about Democracy, people aren't actually ignorant. The worst case in terms of Fetterman is that he had another stroke and died. The resolution? Our Dem governor picks someone else and life goes on. Members of congress die all the time. Even if I thought Fetterman would be dead man a mere months into office, why on earth would I vote for Oz knowing that Fetterman would be easily replaced by someone else that shares my values? Its like those people in Allegheny County voting for dead man; they knew that they would elect another Democrat a couple months later that was FAR superior to voting for someone that represents zero for their values. Dead people and people close to death win races all the time, because the voters know the deal.

All I will say is if this causes you to clutch your pearls, 45% of Pennsylvanians are in for a loooong 6 years. Buckle up.

I saw on Giselle's social media that one reason she chose to get out of dodge was because the media was camped outside her house. She did it to protect her kids. Regardless, I can't remember the last time there was so much feigned outrage over the personal life choices of a U.S. Senator's spouse. She is not an elected official. This visit has no impact on you or I.

I said I don’t care because this thread is about the optics of Gisele Fetterman taking the kids to Canada on vacation while her husband is a mental health in-patient. You’re moving the goalposts to a completely different topic. If you feel so strongly about those points, feel free to start a new thread. Granted, you won’t be the first, second, or even fifteenth C-D poster to do so, but as they say, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.

This is the OP. We're not going to re-hash the election.

Back on track. Who leaves their spouse when they are in the hospital? Apparently she does. I can’t imagine doing that. I think that would be very rare.

Says someone who I am fairly positive voting for a man for President that raw dogged a porn star while his wife was pregnant. Sorry, the right lost all credibility to talk about these issues.

What a pathetic thread. If you think she is a bad wife, who the heck cares? Seriously, short of Karen Santorum's ambulance chasing lawsuit, I cannot think of any reason why a senator's spouse matters.

It's ok, it's not a personal attack and you don't need to immediately flex to whataboutism if someone from you "team" is slighted in any way. There was a lot of hypocrisy on both sides of the aisle related to Covid, and Whitmer's vacation is just one example. That's still not really as bad as Cruz bailing on his state in the middle of a statewide emergency, but whatever, it's just a matter of degree, and the point is that Fetterman's wife and kids going on vacation pales in comparison to any of that and trying to make that into a political attack is as disgusting as it is stupid (not that you did, but that is the OP here).
