Is it possible that your credit union is charging a set up fee for the use of the direct deposit option ?
This sounds like one of those nickel and dime you to death bank fees.

Don't you have online banking?? If you did, you'd see where that $45 went. I suggest you ask your CU about this when you talk to them in morning.

And why did you post this in the Real Estate forum?

Perhaps they charged you for your check order?

I don't know about credit unions, but my three banks all have fraud lines you can call 24/7.

I gather you don't have on-line banking access either.

I cant access my online account here. I dont see how anyone could w/d 45.00 from my account without my atm card & checks. I didnt authorize anyone to w/d money from my account. Ill know the answers tomorrow & i just hope i get my money back & this dont continue. I didnt order any checks from my bank. They gave me 8 temporary checks & i have 7 left. I made a deposit @ a atm on sat july 5th @ 1:14 pm. The receipt stated my deposit & balance. The balance was off 45.00. The 45.00 w/d also occured on sat july 5th before 1:14 pm & it wasnt from a atm (i checked atm transactions on the 24 hr automated service). Someone either w/d the 45.00 in person at the bank or through some company who takes it out of your account. I have heard about the later happening & im hoping the bank credits me. At the atm you can only w/d in 20 dollar bills.

I found this helpful info. Either this happened or a dishonest bank employee stole my money thinking i wouldnt notice it. Many people do trash their receipts & dont look at them. I always keep accurate records & look at my receipt but had i not made a deposit on sat i wouldnt of noticed the theft until i checked my balance at a later date. I will check my balance often now (last x i checked it was last thurs & all was ok)
Someone took money from my account without my permission. What can I do? - Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

You're starting to sound like an emotional train wreck of a broken record!

Until you speak with a human at your bank and find out exactly what happened, you’re working yourself up into a frenzy over what could be nothing. Continually asking us what happened is kinda pointless as we have no idea. The answers you have been given ranged from possible illegal access all the way to charges and fees you didn’t realize were part of your account. You could have signed up for something using a credit card but mistakenly used a debit card linked to that account. You could have subscribed to something on a regular billing and pulled even though you didn’t expect it so soon. Somewhere, somehow someone else’s withdrawal got electronically mixed up and your account was debited, in which case the bank will make you whole.

So, calm down and wait until tomorrow and call the bank. Once they tell you what it was, you can deal with it logically instead of emotionally. Oh and please let us know what it turned out to be.

Because the mods took Sunday off maybe???

And maybe consider giving the OP a little slack? He/She did say they were getting BS benefits, so maybe there are issues beyond the $45 here.

Please excuse my typo. I meant VA benefits. I am Truly sorry for any unintended insult.
