That sounds great. So there is a reason, like conflict of interest, why your executor wouldn't just select your attorney as his/her probate attorney?

I think you are conflating two issues. We are only talking about my 'estate' and I use the word loosely... She can go to anyone she wants. The whole point is she will get some free after care with what I have already paid for.

I don't see why it would be a conflict of interest for her to use that same attorney for anything additional. We do not have a conflict. I discussed how I was setting it up to begin with. It is nice to have someone outside the family that I trust.

I understand free after-care if your executor pays a different attorney to probate your will. I guess I don't understand free after-care if your executor will be paying the same attorney.

I will be dead and so that's why I have someone with the mentality to deal with all of it.

So after you are dead, your executor reaches out to your attorney and says "I need my free after-care because I don't have the mentality to deal with all of it. What advice can you give me?" The attorney responds "Your first step should be that you should hire me as your probate attorney since I am the most logical choice".

Clearly I am not understanding something about free after-care.
