Mass shooting in Spring Garden:

Business as usual.

I'm glad the show COPS is off the air.

Extremely unsettling how close that is to so many neighborhoods. A friend of mine (gay couple with a daughter) actually moved to a new house 3 blocks from that site...

As much as police reform is needed, the uptick in murders and now general crime is a very major issue, and the city needs to get it together and enact a plan to fix this.

Agreed. We can talk about police reform all we want, but unless we talk and consider the existing issues in our communities as well as a way forward to build trust and collaborative efforts, this will continue to spiral out of control.

And while police reform will protect those that are innocent or make sure things like use of force is improved, they will do little to deal with the fact that we have a huge gun violence and drug problem. This should be part of the conversation!

I wonder why this isn't making national headlines?

According to Nieves’ fiance, he suffered a broken scapula, had 12 broken ribs, multiple injuries and also several cracked vertebrae.
Or maybe it is ok for people to try and murder police officers?

What do well all think of this? Scroll midway down for the video.

https://6abc.com/philly-stabbing-hom...rkway/6279478/

The group wants it to be a "police free" zone. I have some strong feelings (mostly against) this setup, but I want to hear other opinions.

Well Seattle has 2 shot and killed plus others shot in consecutive weekends. Louisville 1 dead. Who knows what other crap is going on inside these occupied no cop zones.

The Philly occupied zone is interesting. The “needs” list includes beer/wine, cigarettes & lighters all the while the tent city grows full of black occupants as virtue signaling whites unload supplies from their SUVs. Someone will get killed here and Kenney, Outlaw, and Krasner will shirk responsibility and worry about criminal reform.

BLM is a Marxist group and several of its members were organizing rioters around dilworth plaza on may 30. BLM isn’t concerned about black lives.

Philly at 198 homicides as of June 29. Staying on track for 400!

So they refuse to admit that the spike in Covid 19 cases has ANYTHING to do with the protests and looting, but instead blame it on businesses opening up and people going to bars and restaurants. And the spike in homicides has nothing to do with the lawless track the city has taken under the Mayor, DA and police chief.
Instead of masks, maybe Philly residents need to wear helmets? And SEPTA needs to start buying hundreds of short buses for folks to ride on. They voted these stooges into office.
