Need to know how these areas are in Glendale? 51st Ave on W. Peoria and also Exit 6 off the 101 and right off 91st Ave? Which area is nicer and why? Moving from Michigan on Oct 2nd and really need to know. Thank you!

What street is exit 6? We don't go by exits here, just street names.

91st Ave and Glendale is where the new Cardinals stadium is...and it's a lot of new developments, so you would think it's a good area...but I always hear stories on the news about shooting, drop houses, and drugs in that area.

I would choose elsewhere.

I lived over on 51st Ave and Olive for 5 years which is just south of Peoria. I would try elswhere.

I would also choose elsewhere. What are your relocation wants/needs? We can help if you know your important relocation factors. Welcome soon to AZ!

I would try as north as you can go in Glendale.

IMHO, south Glendale (south of Northern Ave) is just an extension of Maryvale. I also hear about drop houses and shootings in that area.

A year ago when I was looking for houses in Glendale/Peoria, it looked TO ME that things got nicer north of Cactus rd., but more expensive too.

I just moved from 43rd Avenue and Peoria (which is one mile east of 51st Ave), this area is going to have older homes in established neighborhoods. Typical of most things in Phoenix, go one block you will have a great neighborhood with established landscaping, hop over 2-3 streets and you will have a run-down neighborhood where nothing is taken care of. Overall I liked that part of Phoenix but you will need to stay north of Peoria. Target is building a SuperTarget at the intersection of 43rd Ave and Peoria, I doubt Target would invest in a neighborhood that was going downhill.

You mean the Target over there is turning into Super Target. That area has been going down hill for years. It's too bad because you are correct their are many nice well established older neighborhoods around there but all in all it's not worth it. There's too many places in the Valley to choose from.

If you have kids in elementary school, one of the best elementary schools in the state is located at 39th Avenue and Peoria. It does have open enrollment for anyone living in the local school district. So check out Abraham Lincoln Traditional School (ALTS) in the Washington School District.
