IMHO pinning these "heat and humidity" threads into 1 at the top of this Forum will put a stop to most new ones.

I don't think 105 at low humidty feels hot. It feels like an 85 degree day to me. Very comfortable

LOL! Good Asian restaurants, eh? I loved R/D too. It was a tough choice. What little family we have is closer to the AZ location, so that was another consideration. Sorry for the detour - back to humidity!

This is my first summer in Raleigh and can honestly say its nothing compared to phoenix so far. The biggest difference I feel is that it cools down at night and the weather varies a lot more. In phoenix its non stop 105 to 110 and the nights dont offer much relief.

Can't do it.. there's a limit on pinned threads. Though one "heat thread" per hot season ought to be plenty, it never seems to be.

Heat index was a bummer in the MidSouth! I think I'd take the dry heat, though I've been through 135 degree heat in Kuwait and it doesn't matter WHAT kind of heat it is. That's too dang hot! (think of climbing into a lit oven with a blowdryer in your face)

Got what you're saying, it is what it is as you said.

From my experience, the heat in Las Vegas was MUCH worse than anything I experienced in Florida. 110 and dry feels worse to me than 95 and humid. It feels like a hair dryer against your face and makes it harder to breath. It's a heat that makes you think "hurry up....get in the car....it's HOT out here." It's just as bad as being in 30 degree weather up north in the winter, IMO.

One caveat, however, is that my opinion only seems to hold true during the day, when there's sunshine, which makes it even worse. At NIGHT time, however, I would say the desert heat is more bearable than Florida heat.

Heat and humidity is far worse. Your A/C struggles to cool. You feel like you need to shower every time you step outside. You encounter more mosquitoes and insects. Your carpet feels damp. Mold is harder to control. You struggle to cool down because the humidity impedes your body's ability to cool itself.

I like the Phoenix dry heat. I'll take the hair dryer over the steam sauna. Also, the nights in Phoenix are awesome in the summer. To walk out of a movie theatre or a hospital into a warm dry evening feels amazing. I miss that feeling so much.

110 in Phoenix feels like 90 in Houston, Miami, San Antonio, and Dallas. The humidity makes that much of an impact.

Also, if you examine most heat stroke deaths, they are in places with heat and humidity because humidity impedes your body's ability to cool itself.
