We need a really nice indoor water park where the roof can retract in the summer. A place where you can water ski and surf .

The natives americans should build a large water park/casino like atlantis in aruba that would be perfect...

Yeah! Use up some more water! WOOT!

The Native Americans shouldnt have to make stupid waterparks to attract people. Its sad seeing what has become of their people!!! And its really sad that people think that indians should open up a water-wasting waterpark in the middle of the Sonoran Desert just so modern and well-to-do families can have fun, while their children are in poverty. Disgusting and sad at the same time. Some people are in dire need of a serious REALITY CHECK.

Do they still have that mud bog truckin' thing up there on Deer Valley and 7th Street? That, too, is something we need more of around here.

You dont say! But you wish you could.

IL has nothing to do with this discussion, why bring it up? Oh yeah, I dont live in AZ so therefore cannot give my opinion, right?

Shouldn't you be out enjoying the beautiful weather of IL this weekend instead of trolling a Phoenix message board, trying to sound knowledgable? The tribes adjacent to metro phoenix are booming.

Salt River Tribe - two major casinos and major resort and conference center being planned. Major retail and business parks being leased to companies wanting to set up shop adjacent to Scottsdale.

Gila River Tribe - home to the luxury Wild Horse Pass resort and spa, golf and 2 other casinos with a new resort being developed closer to the 10 freeway. Also owns a major industrial park.

Fort McDowell Tribe - home to a 4 Diamond Resort & Casino, plus great golf.
The avg. income for tribe members is $60,000

Ak-Chin Indian Community also boasts a major casino/resort.

Overall, AZ tribes earned over $2 Billion in gross gaming revenue last year, a sizable chunk of which they are required under a sate compact to invest back into the communities. There's still some poverty which is hard to reverse after years of practice, but the bottom line is the PHX area tribes are doing quite well.

The tribes also have the largest percentage of water rights to the Colorado River, plus many have their own aquifers, selling surplus water to nearby cities throughout the state. I'd love to see a recreation lake along the 202 in the Salt River area. The water is already there - it would be just another lake along the river, similar to Roosevelt and Tempe. This is near where Mesa will be building riverview. It would be great to see another development focused on boating and beaches. A dome might be out of the question but they could easily fill in already exisiting gravel pits.

The biggest drawback would be Arizona boater's love of flashing people. That might cause traffic probs on the 202 and distractions to pilots on final approach to PHX.

Correct - the tribes have their casinos, their natural gas reserves, their concrete production plants, their farms and

There's no doubt in my mind that all your opinions are driven by pure altruistic concern! You'd do very well on a HOA board! If you haven't considered it yet, please do!
