Yeah, it's bizarre. I was wondering if there's some meaning behind it, or if he's just trying to be cute - over and over and over and over.

The traffic here sucks, point blank.

The existing highway infrastructure was not built for the influx of new residents. The small government mentality in AZ seems to directly correlate with slow expanding infrastructure. The bottom line, if you enjoy your sanity, move closer to your job!

The existing highway structure was built BECAUSE of the influx of new residents. Most of our freeways are new and they are still continuing to build. If they were allowed to build the South Mountain freeway when they originally wanted to, even the I-10 the OP complained about would be much better.

I, of course, can only go by my own experience, however I've never seen a major metropolis with only one major thoroughfare that expands the entire metro area (I-10). The other loops you mentioned only span so far. Someone mentioned earlier in another thread that I-10's lanes needs to be expanded coming from the 101 to the mini-stack downtown. That is a relatively easy (in comparison to building new freeways) project. However the state transportation department budget has been gutted year after year, at the expense of tax breaks.

I'm sure some widening will be done on the West Valley I-10 in conjunction with the new South Mountain Freeway interchange at roughly 59th Ave.

Saturday was fun; there was a car fire at the point where the I-10 WB and the 51 meet, traffic was forced to exit I-10.

I don't care if it isn't as bad as other places here, it is still bad.

I'm with you. My rush hour is between my master bedroom and my office. I don't even have to climb any steps!

What's even more annoying is people who comment on why there is so many "needless" threads.
