Amazon's own drivers didn't come to QC until recently since the nearest Delivery Station was over in Phoenix by Sky Harbor Airport, which is why we previously got the majority of our orders delivered by the USPS. Amazon opened a Delivery Station in Chandler late May, so we will now get more deliveries by them. According to an email from Amazon, QC will soon be eligible for free same-day delivery. Right now the best we get is free one-day and that only started in March.

Looks like we are still getting some Amazon Prime orders delivered by the USPS. We recently placed three orders; one was shipped Amazon Logistics while two were shipped USPS. Perhaps if we do One-Day Shipping that probably makes it more likely that Amazon Logistics will deliver our order, since Amazon Logistics is the main carrier for Same-Day and One-Day orders, which will cause the Two-Day orders to overflow to the USPS, UPS, or FedEx (the latter two mainly for heavy or bulky packages, although Amazon doesn't seem to use FedEx much anymore at least here in the Phoenix area).

FYI, I just ordered an item using Free One-Day Shipping (a pink sheet and pillowcase set). I wonder if it will ship from the local fulfillment centers. Note that after I ordered the Free One-Day option disappeared for the item, so I must have ordered the last one that qualified. Also, I wonder what carrier it will ship with.

It's the simple things in life I guess...

Looks like the pink sheet and pillowcase set shipped from one of the Phoenix fulfillment centers via Amazon Logistics. My theory could be right that Amazon may prefer to hold the local inventory for same-day/one-day orders, which is why a large portion of my two-day orders ship from Southern California.

All of mine usually come from Amazon themselves. I hate how slow UPS is so I'm grateful they don't use them. If only the other places I shop from online would follow suit, or at least use USPS since it's usually faster than both UPS and Fedex for me. Sigh.

Oh I can. Usually when FedEx or UPS delivers they A:don't deliver on the day as promised, B:leave it at someone else's house (a neighbor because hey, it's just too damn difficult to deliver to the right address) or C: they used it as a football/soccer ball and you can tell the item is most likely broken just by the look of the package even before opening it. The Flex drives seem much more careful. That's just my opinion.

Spot on!!! Worst is when they don't even bother to ring the doorbell and you're home ALL day waiting for the package. Or they drop the "we missed you" slip without attempting to even bother knocking or ringing the doorbell. I'll take Amazon's shipping service or USPS over both UPS and Fedex any day.

I actually think it depends on where you live. For us UPS and FedEx typically will drop off your package except if Signature Confirmation is required. Probably in areas where there are higher rates of package theft they won't leave packages on your front porch.

Well yesterday was Prime Day, and it looks like one of my items (a $50 BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse gift card for $39.50) is being shipped UPS 2nd Day Air from the Fort Worth fulfillment center. This was probably necessary, since Prime Air (which feeds into Amazon Logistics and USPS for Amazon deliveries) doesn't fly between DFW and PHX, and it would be difficult for Amazon's linehaul network to meet the two day guarantee solely by ground transportation.
