Enforcement may be low, but I seem to have a commute route along one of the few enforcement points. My morning commute goes up Price Rd northbound from Queen Creek Rd to Baseline Rd and there are two points along that stretch that have a motorcycle cop with a radar gun out. It's usually once or twice a month it seems, but I feel like he's been there half a dozen times the last month. This is halfway between Ray Rd and Warner Rd. The second spot is somewhat rare, and is just north of Queen Creek Rd. Maybe enforcement really is low, and these are just one of the few points of enforcement. Who knows.

There is zero enforcement. It isn't really the speeding, mostly lack of turn signals and dangerous maneuvers. I just got back from SW Ohio, where a 20 mile stretch can have 5 State Troopers, and they'll ruin your day, too. Speed wasn't over 75. 80 is considered fast. Here, it's 85 and someone always flying.

I also agree that you need a dash cam. I've about got t-boned by a red-light runner, along with about hit a few times. People here are idiots.

They need more troopers, more cams, and $500 dollar, non-negotiable fines. Once you start making it very clear there will be enforcement, the highways will slow down.

There’s no need though. This isn’t SW Ohio and there aren’t potholes, snow, old narrow lanes, frequent rainstorms. As long as traffic is flowing, 10-15 over is not a big deal here. I’ll take fewer road nannies, thanks.

Yeah, we *had* actual 100% enforcement via robotic ticket spewers all over along our major highways when I first moved here. It really wasn’t nice, even for someone who doesn’t normally speed by more than a couple miles an hour. Those who loved speeding would often crank it to 90 after passing a camera, then slow down before the next camera. One of my first memories of driving in North Scottsdale was being passed on the right & fingered by another driver for “only” doing five over in the one stretch of the 101 that had both scameras and cops every five feet.

As someone who has driven literally at least half-a-million miles without a ticket or at-fault accident, I’m much happier in Phoenix proper, who claims to be several hundred officers short of what they consider “ideal” staffing. More cops & more tickets don’t prevent crime or accidents, the “solutions” are much worse than the affliction.
