Yep. they want to enforce their speed limit on you.

To be fair, I was really frustrated by the people in Arizona that hand out in the left land and ride along someone in the slow lane preventing anyone from going faster...

Why is that such big thing in AZ, hanging out in the left lane? Where is the enforcement? Seems like people don't care.

Consider the fact that perhaps the person who you consider to be an aggressive driver might simply be in a hurry, and doesn't need to be inconvenienced by those who move at a snail's pace. While it's impossible to drive fast during rush hour times, it can actually be safe to drive fast when the traffic conditions allow for it. There are valid reasons why we drive fast here. Slowpokes are not only annoying, but they can be dangerous (especially the ones who impede the flow).
That's my peeve also, the freeway entrance ramps are called "The Acceleration Lanes" for a reason To Accelerate! Yet a lot of motorists seem to get on at surface street speeds.

There were times when I was stopped in the left turn lanes on red arrows, with a number of vehicles ahead of me, and when the arrow turned green, I ended up staying for another red arrow thanks to some motorists who tend to either get busy with their cell phones and don't watch the change of the arrow, and/or they take off at a snail's pace! Beleive me it's not just AZ. It got so bad in the CD Automotive forum they actually put a ban on any new left hand threads.

Is that a real thing? I keep thinking that the closer we get to smart highways the better...but then the old man in me that has fixed WAY too many BSODs in his day really doesn't want technology in control of my car. Time to get that 69 Stang back together and on the road.

I want you to drive like a native when you’re there too. We drive a lot better than most of the impatient speed demons from other states.

That looks vaguely familiar driving south/northbound on I-17 going to Black Canyon City and Bumble Bee.
