No on 105!! So happy to see that our Phoenix voters (I live in Tempe so I couldn’t vote) know that improving our public transit system to even an acceptable level for 5 million people are the right steps towards our future.

Don't jump the gun just yet. How do we know they counted District 6 which was said to have the highest turnout? I am pretty sure at least 80% of the voters in that district voted Yes since that is Sal DiCiccio's district.

Early ballots have already been counted, including those from District 6. All that's left are ballots cast or turned in today, and those aren't numerous enough to change the results.

Also, District 6 is not blindly loyal to its outspoken council member. It's actually the most competitive district in the city with Democratic and Republican voter registrations about even. DiCiccio is most popular in his home neighborhood of Ahwatukee, but even there, he's not universally liked. In the northern part of District 6 where I live, he's even less popular.

We can only hope this very fact will be a lesson to the NIMBYs from south Phoenix who started this whole thing. Their push to overturn what Phoenix voters have already voted in favor of several times before didn't work, so they need to accept defeat and crawl back under their rocks. NIMBYs have been a primary reason for why Phoenix has lagged behind other large cities, and it's not just their opposition to light rail ... it's their resistance to practically anything (freeways, tall buildings, theme parks, stadiums, airports, air force bases, etc., etc.).

Now, other than planned lines, I would like lines going from Ahwatukee to Superstition Springs Center via Chandler Blvd/Williams Field and Power Rd, and another from North Scottsdale to Chandler Fashion Center via Scottsdale/Rural and Chandler Blvd (remember my Pink Line and Brown Line ideas, respectively?). The former could connect to any potential future extension of the existing line at Superstition Springs and could connect to the Scottsdale line at Chandler Fashion Center.

It's official. The "libs" have taken over Phoenix. Trendy yet woefully inefficient light rail and have your cake and eat it too fiscal discipline rule the day. And it wasn't even close. I'm not crying over it, just noting that Phoenix and probably Arizona is going through a political reversal.

I can't talk to everyone here in person but I'm humble enough to say no hard feelings, congratulations to those who were against Prop 105.

Obviously it's not what we wanted but we'll deal with it, no big deal.
