Yes they will. They ride the light rail here and they ride trains in plenty of other cities too, even those that have turnstiles. Setting aside whether it's even logistically possible, I'm all in favor of using a closed entry system to capture fares for each ride. But if you think that's going to keep homeless and drug addicts off public transit, you're mistaken.

Same can be said about most anything run by the government & reliant on tax money. Look at public education as a prime example. If you own property outright, you'll soon be getting your annual tax bill, and public schools easily consume 60 to 70% of your hard earned money. This can add up to thousands of dollars per household. In comparison, the amount of taxes each individual contributes to transportation (roads, buses, light rail, etc.) amounts to barely a drop in the bucket compared to what we spend on public education.

Your car is losing money, too.

The anti-rail people need to take down their yes on 105 signs.
I still see some of those around and they look junky and they cause just as much blight as the druggies and homeless do.

Having worked on several campaigns I can tell you that the right thing to do, what we have always done, is contract with somebody to both put up and take down the signs. They give us a list of where they put them and we check afterwards to see that they have been taken down. The anti-rail dark money that came from outside the community has moved on to interfere in somebody else's elections and the signs are left as an f-you to Phoenix for not voting their way.

The treasurer for the Prop 105 campaign is now running for city councilwoman District 7, Nowakowski’s old district. That’s probably where it’s going.

I saw a news piece last week regarding several arrests for riding the rail without paying. Good.
