But it should be good for commuters on that side. However, I'll bet housing prices will rise in Avondale in the near future.

See, even just mentioning density has already stirred things up and scared a few people. Posters on the phx city data forum need their “space”, meaning an endless sprawl of cookie cutter houses packed so tightly together you can reach out and touch your neighbors walls. But hey, at least there are no walkable amenities. I, for one, am really looking forward to the beautiful sea of tiny lot beige subdivisions, red lobsters, and strip malls this freeway will undoubtedly birth.

If you ever drive down oracle rd in Tucson, you’ll see people walking in the street next to cars going 60mph because no one ever bothered to build sidewalks. That sums up the attitude in az pretty well.

your dislike of Arizona is obvious; wouldn't moving away be better for your attitude and outlook on life?

why stay if you dislike how it is here so much????

I am thankful that this part of AZ202 is completed. As one who used to detour on I-8 to Gila Bend and take AZ85 to avoid all the congestion in PHX, it will be a welcome relief ( until it gets jammed , LOL)

It seems that you're struggling with reading comprehension, bud. You are the one that wants to live in a more dense environment so that you can "touch your neighbors walls". I am the one that likes having some space around me.

Also, there's nothing "cookie cutter" about my house. In fact I do not think anyone else in the valley has the same floor plan that I do, there's a few (handful) similar but none the same. And it's not beige either.

As a south Phoenix resident I'm hoping this will alleviate some of the westbound congestion on Baseline, Southern and Broadway in the afternoon. We shall see.

Exactly. Completely ignores that a lot of older, dense housing stock is also cookie cutter for its time.

I lived in a row house built in the 1890s and had a trolley run right in front of my place. Tiniest possible footprint, maybe 4' between our window and neighbors window in the 2nd floor. Shared wall on the other side. The whole block built the same.

I enjoy my home, pool, nearby community park and greenbelt, etc.

I got a chance to drive it. It was nice but a lot of semis and total gridlock at 59th Avenue as predicted. Why oh why did they not connect it to the 101 in the west valley instead of 59th Avenue?

I already answered this in another thread. It would have basically meant leveling the city of Tolleson, and they weren't in support of having their city bulldozed
