Are people from all over the PHX area going to congregate in Goodyear to get a taste of Buc-ee's? It seems so superficial and kind of dumb. Why the big draw? I don't get it either.
I've been to one in Texas and it's cool if you're on a long road trip as they have lots of hot food and unique gifts. Probably cooler before you could buy everything online like you can now. There will be a lot of people descending on the area to check it out once it opens then it will probably turn into regular travelers eventually. No, I don't think it's worth a special trip out of the way.

Buc-ee's is officially coming to Goodyear. They have closed a purchase of land on the southeast corner of Bullard Avenue and I-10.

'According to the city of Goodyear, the center will have the following:

120 fueling stations for passenger vehicles only.
An approximately 74,000-square-foot convenience store.
The Goodyear location will offer 200 full-time jobs to the area.
The Buc-ee’s travel center will be open 24 hours a day.'

Last month I was on my return road trip from Tucson to Ohio, and stopped at a new (opened in December '23) Buc-ee's just outside Springfield, MO. It was a three-day weekend in February, so there were plenty of customers there but not jam packed. This Buc-ee's was probably the same size that will be built in AZ - huge. The gas pump prices were a bit less than most of the other large highway gas stations / truck stops.

It was dinner time when I stopped, so I went in for a sliced brisket sandwich, one of their top sellers. These are excellent Texas BBQ beef brisket sandwiches, sliced on the board in the middle of the sandwich area. There is a crew making sandwiches, so if they sell that many you know they must be pretty good sandwiches. There are plenty of fresh baked items in the store to set off every crave bell in your body, so you need some willpower to get out of there without buying too much junk food.

Yes, it is worth it to go there at least once. Tourists from other countries stop there in amazement and take photos, so how many gas stations can say that?

AZ billboard owners will be dancing along the highways. Buc-ee's loves billboards, and they will appear along I-10 from CA to NM, and I-17 from Flagstaff to Phoenix. Even the billboards are a bit entertaining.

Opens on Monday, I'm trying to get my sister or a family member to buy me a couple of t shirts and maybe a blanket of some sort on grand opening. Anyways, I hope they open more in Arizona besides the Goodyear location.
