Well, that is another reason I don't fit in as well here. ha ha You can't really wear much clothing here in the summer or winter so you have to make sure you can go exposed without blinding anyone. XD All my friends have had surgery and botox, I am choosing the normal route. I think this would be easier in a cooler climate. Winter will be fabulous, the only thing that will show will be my face. lol My 40's will be much more comfortable in blizzard type conditions. he ah ha he

I can see both points of view of this argument. Fact is, many people get transferred to Phoenix by their employers. The company I signed on to a few months ago gave me a choice of Oklahoma City or Phoenix, and I went with Phoenix. This heat here is a little too much for me, but other than that I'm doing okay. I think it's a fact of life that we live in a world where employers shove their employees around the country like freight. In my case I actually kind of wanted to move to Phoenix, but I can see how somebody sent here involuntarily wouldn't be too happy. What I am hoping though is once this place cools down it will be awesome. Actually I think the ideal city would be a place like Houston, but with the climate of Prescott. I was sent on a business trip to Houston last month and now Houston is my favorite city-- almost wish I was living there. But hey, honestly there really isn't that much to complain about when it comes to Phoenix, OTHER THAN the heat. I'm making TWICE as much money now as I was living in Spokane. That's gotta count for something!

Ha!

Keep in mind that this did start off as a sort of "book club" post.

Book clubs, women with weight issues, gold digging, nip tucks....

I tell you, this has Opera's name all over it.

If there are those that are unhappy in any place they land, are there an equal number of people that are happy in any place that they end up in? I was happy in California, and I am happy in Arizona.

Seems that the OP introduced the idea that individuals should move to find that ideal place for them. It seems to me that within the area an individual could find a place that is agreable to them. The area is made up of different parts. Some like me prefer Surprise. Others love Mesa. Within these posts you can find differences within the valley. I don't think a person has to leave the area to find an ideal spot. Personally I think a person can be happy anywhere. It is up to the individual.

Does anyone really think they could be "just as happy" living in say Baghdad, Iraq versus Milan, Italy or Paris, France versus South Bronx or wherever versus wherever. Of course where you live affects your everyday experiences and how you feel.
