Maybe you've heard of the Highland Building. It is the tallest in East Liberty. And you don't think higher-end businesses pushing out lower-end ones is gentrification? What is the term for that, if so?

There's a whole bunch of new construction on Euclid. They were selling for over $250,000 a couple of years back and the two listed now going for quite a bit more. In fact, doing a Trulia search of East Liberty reveals 7 houses with asking prices over $200,000.

So the fact that it's almost done and mostly leased isn't proof enough? In six months when the building is full of tenants will that be enough proof that East Liberty is gentrifying. What about when Bakery Square is full of residential tenants? How about when the giant transit oriented housing project is done along the busway? Or will you just keep moving the goalposts?
