I figured they wouldn't be out for long because they never are even when its on tv. Is there a good place to park? I know game parking can be pricey.

I would recommend parking at Station Square and taking either the T or the Gateway Clipper shuttle to the game. Parking on the North Side probably will run you $40-50 or more. Depending on how many people you have, you probably can park for $15-20 or so, and pay $5 per person for the T. Not sure how much the boat costs, but probably more than the T. Alternately, if you don't mind a bit of a walk, you could walk it and save the T fare/boat tickets.

If it were me...
I would park at First Side/First Avenue or at US Steel Tower.... the opposite side of town, away from the chaos.
I would then take the T for free to the North Shore.

After the game, the T can return you, or you can walk back if it is a nice day.
And, since the game is on a Friday, the walk back can include a few stops for food and/or drinks!

I second this.

Try the casino. Usually it costs money during games, but since it's preseason it might be free. If you get there early enough you might get to park for free as well.

Thanks! Is parking panda a good site to use to find parking? I don't tend to park in my city because I rarely am the one driving there.

Never heard of parking panda.

I have used ParkPGH.
But you don't need an app at all if you pick one of those recommended lots.

Do you just drive and hope the lot is open or do they sell prepaid parking passes?

It's an exhibition game. Parking isn't going to be a huge deal. Leave early enough and you'll be able to find what suits you. If you don't mind walking a bit of a distance the cheaper it will be.
