Half the league makes the playoffs. 1st round exits win nothing.

I’d wager your standards are much lower than John Henry’s, and if it was ludicrous then they’ll absolutely sign both of them. However, this team has zero chance of winning a championship anytime soon. They’re slow, stale, and clinging to relevancy.
I have no problems with rebuilding. The good thing about the pens is they haven’t turned into an organization that throws a bunch of crap at the wall hoping it sticks. When Jarry faltered last year they didn’t sign or draft 3 other goalies to complete with him for the starting job.

The pens won’t win the series without Jarry in goal. I like DeSmith but he’s a solid backup that can come in and win a game or two for you.

That’s because most nobody’s going to want a goalie that floundered and played like a dullard and lost their team the series, and they couldn’t afford the cap hit to get rid of him and bring someone else in.

Lol. Jarry isn’t going to win anything of significance. He’s looked terrible down the stretch and obviously can’t handle the load throughout the season. If he was healthy and they kept playing him they’d be worse than only 7 wins in their last 15 games.

The best thing the Pens have going for them is that Henry now owns the team. It’s unlikely he’s going to keep the core 3 together because old time sake and muh familiarity. If he does the team has no chance of winning a championship anytime soon.

Pens have 3 wins in their last 16 playoff games. They’re slow and stale and the championship window is closed.

The pens have two Stanley cup championships the last 11 years. I know another pittsburgh team that has only won 3 playoff games in that span when the pens were winning championships. Interestingly enough the pens hall of fame leader has more championships then his retired nfl counterpart

And they’re a long way from winning another one if they keep the route they’re on. 3 wins in their last 16 playoff games is terrible.

And the other Pittsburgh team has 6 championships, and the Pens only 5…but I love the deflection to the Stillers because the Pens have no chance of a championship anytime soon…and the Stillers will always be top dog in popularity in Pittsburgh.

The pens are the model pittsburgh franchise now. Gotta love the deflection. Four of those wins came before Ronald Reagan was president lol. And Myron Cope was a tad past middle age.

There’s no deflection and if you mean having no chance at winning a championship, keeping the gang together because old times, familiarity, because Sid wants it, etc…, that’s a model for going nowhere anytime soon.

Lol. The fact is the Stillers are tied for the most championships in the NFL. Pens certainly can’t say that in the NHL.

What a fantastic game. Pens playing awesome, especially Guentzel and DeSmith. I’d wager they won’t be trying to hurry Jarry back in.

Huge win! DeSmith and Domingue looking so much better than Jarry thus far in the playoffs. Hopefully DeSmith is okay.

? Jarry is hurt yo. Great game for sure. That’s the difference when a franchise makes winning a priority. The pens played with heart last night. Hats off to the entire team and especially the backup goalies.
