Yes, we could go tit-for-tat forever. So, i'm asking you, as a (I assume) a Black person: Do you believe that the majority of Black American's put their support behind the ideals of the Tea Party? Not your aunt and uncle or your cousin down the street; the majority of the race. In your opinion, will Black American's be voting for Tea Party conservatives in 2010 and 2012?
Why would we vote for this group that only exist to destroy and discredit this nations first black President so that no other black will ever set in the Oval Office again. Why in the world would we vote for that. We don't get the social security and disability checks that the tea party members do so we have to work doesn't leave a lot of time to go around the country holding up racist signs or to draw pictures of the President and his family as monkeys.
Just as the thread title supposes: If you don't like the Tea Party, it's ideals, and even it's protest signs, then stop whining and get off your ass and create a counter-movement.
Nothing or no one is stopping you, except your own apathy.
What would it look like? A movement that wanted a bigger, more powerful centralized government, with higher taxes and less freedom for the people. Oh wait, they already have more then one, and a political party called the Democratic Party.

The problem with your philosophy is that they are not digging themselves a grave. In fact, the renewed emphasis on social and fiscal conservatism is reverberating at the macro level all across the country. Those who would never associate with the Tea Party are realizing that this nation requires a much-needed conservative correction.
The message is very clear. Which is why conservatism is winning heading into the November elections.
awesome. worked so well for Iran in the late 70's.
how so when these tea party member support the same ole, the only change they want is party change no real govt change otherwise we would have seen it waaaay before obama
Its all about Obama and the idea of Obama. They will go away as soon as someone who looks right to them is in the drivers seat. I don't have to say or do anything it will be proven then. Oh, they will still have those 7 black people out there protesting, looking around, wondering what happen to the movement.

So the only conclusion that can be drawn from this that using the Race Card is the whole intent of the NAACP, and others, since you don't intend to vote for Tea Party candidates.
That's disappointing. One would think that Black people would be happy to see the racist element repudiated so they could join millions of Americans in attempting to establish some sort of fiscal and social sanity in this government.
In other words, Black American's only care about race issues. The other more pressing issues, such as solvency, are just piddly issues that don't matter.

No, all those issues matter. The difference is it mattered to us before a black guy was President.
Whatever the counter-movement is, it will be racist. If people can falsely claim the Tea Party started with Obama in office then they can claim this new movement only came about because we have a black president.
sorry half black lol

I think its degrading when liberals classify an entire people like that, as if a person looks at the color of their own skin, and becomes a mindless drone.
1. The demographics are pretty simple. Majority of the activists are white, over the age of 40, and they come from suburban and rural areas of the country. Bigger numbers come from the Red States. The majority make good income from jobs and investments. Retirees have enough savings and investments to live comfortably.
2. The "Tea Party" activists have voted for Republicans and will continue to vote for Republicans in the future. The activists are more conservative about social, security and economic matters than the rest of the US population, but they still line up behind more moderate GOP candidates against liberal Democrats in the end.
3. The Tea Party has been around for decades but we didn't have a name for them. They were hard-core supporters of Barry Goldwater's campaign in 1964. They were fervent supporters of the John Birch Society. They were against civil rights legislation and for pro-segregation. They were fierce anti-communists and they supported the US military involvement in Southeast Asia. In the 1970s, they enthusiastically supported Nixon as a response to gains made by women, persons of color and young people during the government activism of the 1960s.
In 1980, they were the lead soldiers for Ronald Reagan's campaign to break down federal government influence. After Clinton won the presidency in 1992, they organized grass-root opposition and used the media to denounce Clinton's policies. They feared the era of Big Government under a Democrat would lead to dictatorship and the ultimate destruction of the United States. You can copy & paste this reaction from the 1990s to this current day.
Only this time, you have a black man with a funny, sounding foreign name. The level of passion and FEAR has been increased by a factor of 10 in the predominately white, conservative and suburban-rural community.
Level-headed Americans know that the Tea Party concepts would be a complete disaster for this country just as socialism would be rejected by the majority of people. The majority of voters fall in the MIDDLE...not the extreme Left or Right. This is a concept that Tea Party (i.e. conservative Republicans) have a hard time understanding.
