Well, now we know why and from where all the left's false charges of racism started...
Quote:
It was the moment of greatest peril for then-Sen. Barack Obama’s political career. In the heat of the presidential campaign, videos surfaced of Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, angrily denouncing whites, the U.S. government and America itself. Obama had once bragged of his closeness to Wright. Now the black nationalist preacher’s rhetoric was threatening to torpedo Obama’s campaign.
The crisis reached a howling pitch in mid-April, 2008, at an ABC News debate moderated by Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos. Gibson asked Obama why it had taken him so long – nearly a year since Wright’s remarks became public – to dissociate himself from them. Stephanopoulos asked, “Do you think Reverend Wright loves America as much as you do?”
Watching this all at home were members of Journolist, a listserv comprised of several hundred liberal journalists, as well as like-minded professors and activists. The tough questioning from the ABC anchors left many of them outraged. “George [Stephanopoulos],” fumed Richard Kim of the Nation, is “being a disgusting little rat snake.”
Others went further. According to records obtained by The Daily Caller, at several points during the 2008 presidential campaign a group of liberal journalists took radical steps to protect their favored candidate. Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.
In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by changing the subject. Pick one of Obama’s conservative critics, Ackerman wrote, “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”

Astute comment:
"So basically we can blame the liberal media for stoking the fires of racism to unbearable degrees by imploring their sheeple (peers and viewers/readers) to accuse anyone and everyone of racism no matter what their beef is with Obama.
Policy disagreement? Racism. Deep concerns with the company he kept for 20 years, i.e. a preacher who used his pulpit to preach hatred of the ‘white devil’ and talk about America like we were Darfur? Racism. Fighting to stop Obamacare by listing everything it will do to harm healthcare in America – things that even the NYT is admitting after the fact? Racism..."

No surprise here. Cue Leftie defense or shift in topic, in 3, 2, 1....

...or just lefties ignore since most of them are too busy getting their rocks off right now bashing a female conservative who they hate and fear.

This is one of the many reasons why I despise liberal ideology. The "disgusting little rat snakes" are those who believe underhandedness at the behest of the Race Card is the political cure-all. To embrace such a philosophy tells me that the person is not worth their own salt. I despise those types.

After someone torpedoed Dave Weigel’s Washington Post gig by breaking the code of silence on the Journolist listserv, the race has been on to see who would sell the entire contents of the e-mail messages between the liberal members of the group — and who would get to buy them. We may never know who sold it, but Tucker Carlson and the Daily Caller wound up with the data, and they found a big story to lead off their exposés. In the first of a series on Journolist, Daily Caller reporter Jonathan Strong lays out a strategy plotted by Journolist members to kill the Jeremiah Wright story during the 2008 primaries — and to smear Barack Obama’s critics as racists
Hot Air » Daily Caller discovers Journolist plot to spike Wright story, smear conservatives as racists

This involves numerous MSM 'journalists.'
Here's what happened at the Washington Post for starters...
Quote:
Post blogger Dave Weigel, who wrote about the conservative movement, resigned amid controversy today following disclosure of disparaging e-mails he’d written about some of the very people he was hired to cover.

Weigel bears responsibility for sarcastic and scornful comments he made in e-mails leaked from a supposedly private listserv called “Journolist,” started in 2007 by fellow Post blogger and friend Ezra Klein. Weigel’s e-mails showed strikingly poor judgment and revealed a bias that only underscored existing complaints from conservatives that he couldn’t impartially cover them.

Exposés... more of the MSM will be exposed in this scandal...

Exactly who was posting on JournoList?
For starters...
Nobel Prize-winning columnist Paul Krugman; staffers from TIME, Newsweek, POLITICO, Huffington Post, The New Republic, The Nation and The New Yorker; policy wonks, academics and bloggers such as Ezra Klein and Matthew Yglesias...

For the past two years, several hundred left-leaning bloggers, political reporters, magazine writers, policy wonks and academics have talked stories and compared notes in an off-the-record online meeting space called JournoList.
...While members may talk freely about JList at, say, a Columbia Heights house party, there’s a “Fight Club”-style code of silence when it comes to discussing it for publication.
Yeah... we'll find out why as more of the exposés emerge. Seems the "Fight Club" code of silence has been broken, and at least one 'journalist' has already lost his job...

Journalists today are as bad and corrupt as politicians. Each group needs the same fate. They need to be weeded out and fired, all of them. We'd be so much better off. One can dream I suppose....

Anyone that was honest knew what was happening. Obama gave a press conference about him. Said he was like an uncle to him. Then he denounces him. That was it. Anyone paying attention at the time noticing the media lack really questioning him about Wright or trying to probe into it. Knew what was going on.

Obama was taken at his word for so many things.

This makes me wonder what they're being taught in journalism programs today. You report the news, you don't make it. It's a sad day for democracy when the media can be bought, and a good day for totalitarianism. Control of the media.......who would have thought it could happen here?

That is just un****ing believable. I knew it was bad, but to actively plot out schemes like that is sickening.

They really are just a propoganda machine looking to brainwash people.
