Payroll taxes being name for income taxes, 'poor' people earn less than the lowest bracket of income taxes; so they pay no income taxes.

... excise taxes, gasoline taxes, state sales
Everyone pays these taxes.

Again you must have a certain minimum of income before you pay any income taxes.

Again everyone pays these.

This is complete BS. Nobody is avoiding sales tax, everyone must file income taxes, everyone who uses gasoline is paying gasoline taxes, ...

Hey, I do that all the time to my hubby. I see some hideous dress at the store, go over to see how much it costs and then tell my husband how much I saved him since I would never consider buying it. HAHA
Monkeying with numbers is fun.
why is is that you get a penny for your thoughts, but have to put your 2 cents in?

Total idiocy, everyone employed pay payroll taxes (FICA); those with small income pay no income tax and actually receive a welfare payment when they file a return- EIC. The rest of the taxes are paid by everyone- "telephone/cable/power/utility/fishing/hunting/ etc. fees" are paid by those who participate; if you don't go fishing you don't pay for a license. Utilities may be necessary but the cost can be controlled by the user.
Lose the car, turn down (or up) the thermostat, disconnect the cable, phone and broadband and save some cash.
in this country businesses and corporations, big and small, do NOT pay income taxes. they pass those costs onto the consumer on a regular basis.
By this line of reasoning, the consumer pays all of the taxes. The cost of the employees wages and employer paid taxes are added into the cost of the product and paid by the purchaser/user

he thinks because he is sitting home retired collecting his union retirement from working at Union Carbide (I wonder if he was one of the Bhopal supervisors), and not paying taxes, that we should tax the 'rich' more than they are taxed already...what happens when the bloody government decides that his pension needs to be taxed even more , because the reDEFINE the rich to be anyone making 50k or more...then what
The funny thing is, he actually belives that the rich guy with 3 cars, a yacht, 2 jet skis, a 4 wheeler pays less gas tax then the "poor" guy.
You can own a dozen cars, but since you can not drive all of them at the same time. You can only drive one car at a time. So if you commute to work, you can only commute using one car per day. ie, the same amount of gasoline as a person with one car.
Yachts tend to suck through a lot of fuel though.
