'Fair' is what you pay to get into a circus. Otherwise there is nothing which is 'fair', as 'fair' is a hard to define term. What seems 'fair' to one, will seem unfair to another. 'Fair' is subjective.
Just this morning I got an email form a lady who is complaining that it is not 'fair' that her welfare checks may be getting reduced soon. Someone else would complain that it is not 'fair' for an alcoholic single person to be on welfare for over 20 years with no intent of ever working. 'Fair' is subjective.

If you work one day each month for 8-hours at minimum-wage you will earn enough to feed yourself for over a month [if you eat a frugal healthfood diet]. Therefore nobody in the USA is working for starvation wages.

... get paid next to nothing for WORKING?
Who works for nothing? I would have to assume nobody. We have laws in place that set minimum wages. So legally nobody is working for nothing.
OK, then vote in people who support a flat tax, no exceptions. Of course, then those poor people will be taxed at the same rate as the rich people and vice-versa.
'no exceptions'
A flat tax is only flat for wage-slaves.
Every businessman decides each month how much his take-home will be, and then your back with accountants once again.
absolutely! since they don't have any education, experience or something else that creates values! everyone deserves his wage and nothing more! if you are a value creator you'll get a wage that certifies it!
I don't know a single person that brings something to the table and struggles!
I agree.
A person may 'struggle' for a short period of time, but certainly not in the big picture.

"...But, the study also says, even if the rich get to keep their lower tax rates, don't depend on them for economy-boosting spending. Tax-cut history and data from the Federal Reserve's Flow of Funds reports indicate that high-income earners prefer to save the money rather than spend it.
That was the case in both instances of tax cuts under former President George W. Bush...."
Exactly, they arent "pumping in funds to better Americas economy" . They own oil leases, offshore investments and these are NOT helping the U.S.....
You think its FAIR that poor WORK for starvation wages and get paid next to nothing for WORKING?
Again, why are they so poor? Maybe they should get a better education, stop having so many kids, live more within their means, could be any or all the above!
Everyone has the same opportunity, just some want to sit back and complain about not having anything and the others go out and get it for themselves!!
Every election Steve Forbes trots out his tired flat tax. It all sounds wonderful until people do the math.
28% Federal Tax
6.2% Oasdi
whatever your State and local taxes are:
Probaably wind up paying over 40%
so apparently obama paid his fair share of taxes, but you complain that the rich dont pay enough in taxes. so which is it? the rich dont pay enough, or they really pay their fair share but you are jealous of what they worked for?
The point is they know how to hide their assets.....they are buying property in New Zealand, not Pocatello Idaho
Again, why are they so poor? Maybe they should get a better education, stop having so many kids, live more within their means, could be any or all the above!

yes, why are they so poor? Why does someone who fills potholes all day with tar and tools in the hot sun, saving lives from major car accidents, be paid less than a pro football player?

Most of my cousins moved in US just with a bag a T-Shirt and 0$(ZERO). Today after 10-14 years they are all in the middle/upper middle/class. One has his own business, other is the main designer for a luxury company that creates furniture for the "evil" rich and other is a M.D. They dropped out of college when they left Europe. If they made it I really don't understand why a person that is born there, has good English skills and family there can't make it! I really don't understand!
