This is where pragmatism finally meets idealism. Big business knows that Rand Paul et.al. would have let the banks fail, let GM and Chrysler fail and would have voted against TARP that greatly benefited the Chamber of Commerce and their cronies.
Business may not like to admit it, but, they get all kinds of advantages from the government that help them compete in a global marketplace, mitigate against the costs of compliance with federal regulations and the like. They aren't going to support anyone they perceive wants to stop that money train.
Exactly, but that doesn't mean they won't support the GOP in efforts to whip up the vote from the Tea Party, and then leave the Tea Party high and dry.
The end result--we get the Bush years all over again.
They aren't a "movement" at all. They are funded with big money, and are just Republicans cry babies upset that they lost. If they had an ounce of integrity they would have formed 5 years ago. Not surprisingly the "movement" started once we had a black guy in office with a funny name.
Didn't you read the article. Big Money is AGAINST the TEA Party. It is not a wing of the Republican party. In fact establishment Republicans HATE the tea party and want to run candidates who are Dem lite.
The movement started after both Dems and establishment Reps voted for TARP and other bailouts. It has nothing to do with racism.
I was actually suprised to read this. I figured that the Tea Party was pretty much a creation of big business. After all they both hate the Democrats and President Obama and they both have the same goals which is to destroy the working people.
But it appears that not even big business can stomach the Tea Party anymore. They are running like scalded jackrabbits from it. They have only endorsed one Tea Party candidate, Marco Rubio, and only because he has pretty much renounced the tea party stands he took to win the primary.
Ironic, GOP creates its Frankensteins, then gets scared by them! This happened when Karl Rove attracted droves of 'Christian' Right to Neocon causes, he had his hands full with Evangelical warmongers.

But they never got anything actually done for the Christian right, did they? The Republicans can't win without that base, so they whip them up, then lead them along...same thing now. They created Frankenstein on purpose, but then they locked him in a cage and only let him out to vote.

Now you know how it feels to be a LIBERAL Democrat. I only get to vote but even when we get a big majority they cannot pass 90% of the liberal agenda.

The fact that we get some of liberal agenda passed is credit due to Democrat leaders that work very hard in Congress, and to President Obama who signs passed bills. The fact that we have already seen positive changes in health insurance, credit card rates, foreclosure moratoriums, employment insurance extensions, and end of Iraq War , etc BEFORE Midterm, is phenomenal. These are steps in the right direction for the American people, and we need to keep the momentum going.
For all the lefties without the burden of religion, it's amusing to see the attraction to little fairy tales written by columnists, based upon the columnists' opinion. If you believe in God, you can at least say that it was your faith in the deity that guided your convictions. You guys should probably go back to the whole Tea Party is Racist theme, while it really doesn't sell, you were able to offer pictures.
