Well, I'm a guy who lives alone. Now and then I'll have a lady stay over, but that's another story and besides, that doesn't happen nearly often enough. Anyhow, if ever I had an intruder I'd defend myself with a kitchen knife and/or a bow and arrow which I have in a closet. Most likely I'd forgo the self-defense and either run or beg for my life.

I do own a 20-gauge shotgun. I haven't fired it in 20 years. It's in the basement and I have no ammo for it. The last time I fired it I was out in the country on a farm. A crow landed in a branch not far away and I wrapped the gun around my back, took quick aim at the bird, and much to my surprise I obliterated him. It was such a good-looking trick shot that I stop right there, never shooting the gun again.

I am sort of curious about the musket pistol, since i like flintlocks for target shooting and hunting.

That comment on keeping guns off the street can't be well thjought out, since it ends with just criminals having guns on the street. But my ideas of what is and what isn't on streets is probably different than yours since i live very rural.

In 05 into 06 i crossed the USA with my wife on a motorcycle and in Az I prefered asking directions from guys that were openly armed. I feel far safer talking with strangers who are armed. They have no need to fear a guy in black riding gear.

Because of my life style i don't need to drive to shoot or hunt, as i can just walk out the door for either one.

true, only congress can declare war, BUT the president CAN send troops into battle at any time for 90 days without the authorization of congress. after that congress has to approve the effort. however, since world war two, congress has authorized the use of force in most of the combat efforts we have been in.

RBohm,

I still believe that the War Powers Act was unconstitutional, and the Supreme Court should have it stricken down as such.

There are a LOT of people in here, people from all walks of life. Some of them may recognize this saying.

"No matter how big and bad you think you are, there is always someone bigger and badder".

I learned at the tender young age of 19, never take anything for granted.

It's a hard lesson, and I didn't learn it because I lost, I learned it because I won. It's then I realized, how things could have very well gone the other way. Once you realize how the world doesn't revolve around you, you understand how not to be so set in your ways.

Either that or you try to pin someone's arms with just 1 arm and you fail.
I don't have to be big, or bad. Merely skilled. My skills have never failed me, because I know how the body works, and use that to my advantage.
