The Democrats could have- and should have- shown the GOP the door 2 years ago. The first thing they should have done was DUMP the filibuster rule and pass legislation with 51 votes- you know like the Constitution calls for.

Is this a contest between Dems and Reps or is it about services for us? What difference does it make who gets the jobs done?
I live in Nev and I cannot understand way anyone in their right mind would cast a vote for her unless it's a vote againt Reid. And that is what this election is all about. I hope and pray you get what you wish for, then you will appreaciate government involvement more. YOU don't really want less government. If you did you would love living back in the 1700s when there wasn't a need for govenment.
Limited govenment means limited services. Call the fire departent when your house is on fire and it does not come. Drive down the paved street and it suddenly turns into a dirt trail. Call law enforcement and it does not come. No prisons, no schools, no food and drug regulations. Anarchy and chaos. We cease to be a country. Even the strong will not survive. Your guns and money is useless. Have at it and good luck. Be careful what you wish for, you may get it.

Agreed. The biggest and dumbest mistake Obama has made was reaching across the isle and trusting the republicans to be fair like he was.

I have another thread about the probability of Palin being the nominee in 2012. Unlike some people who laugh at that idea, I take "the threat" very seriously. And NEVADA is a perfect example as to why. When the economy is in the toilet- as it is in Nevada- and voters are pissed off- as they are in Nevada, they can do very stupid things like replacing the Majority Leader of the US Senate with a freshman Senator that has, no experience no seniority and no clout whatsoever and then they will wonder why Nevada gets pissed on for the next several years when it comes to things like the Yucca Mountain nuke dump and the probability of the Phoenix to Las Vegas freeway (interstate 11) dropping to zero. I am no fan of Reid but having grown up in Kansas, I know too well the value of having a Senator with lots of seniority (Bob Dole) who can get things done for the state. Not everybody in Kansas liked Dole's politics (he was a moderate Republican) but they knew that replacing him with a nutcase freshman would have been a stupid thing to do. It just befuddles me that Nevadans don't understand this.

Therein lies some of the problem. If I read you correctly, I apologize if I am incorrect, most every thing you mentioned is a state responsibility.

Too many people today want the federal gov't to have a major role in those issues. A large part of americans rising up is they want the feds out of those things.

Don't tax me then "give" money back to the states in the form of a coorsion. If you take fed money there are always strings attached. The more the money, the more strings.

As an example. If your state decides to build a road. Pay for it yourself. If you fail to maintain that road, why should my tax dollars bail you out.

You need to do some research. Obama has NEVER reached across the aisle. "We won, get used to it".

I think he reached around to the back seat once though - or was that just to borrow John Boehner's lighter?

You haven't answered my questions about what is going on in Florida with that Senatorial race. It seems to me that Meeks is the most truthful of the bunch but then maybe I am wrong.
