Obama is supposed to forgo his vacation b/c some other people can't afford one? How does that compute?
No one said anything about "foregoing" his vacation. He could, however, take fewer, less extravagant ones. It does not look good; makes him appear, I don't know, maybe like a King or Czar or something instead of the President of a country that is currently, under his rule, er I mean leadership and not doing so well fiscally. Again, just sayin...doesn't look so good. What next, will he be quoted as saying, "Let them eat cake!"

First of all, he's not really on vacation.

Secondly, all the RWs have their ideas on where Obama should vacation, namely Camp David, Baltimore, etc. It would cost almost as much for him to vacation there as it does for him to go to HI. The SS protection, and the costs for same, remain the same. The main additional expense is the travel, but that's not a huge part. We only have this reporter chica's numbers to go on for the cost of the airfare anyway.

I don't know, didn't Jimmy Carter hang out with his bro "Billy? C'mon. That part of the post was kind of a joke...

And, yes I would take issue with any president, who during this present economic crisis the country is in, would be taking vacations seen on "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous." He should tone it down a bit and set a better example for the rest of the country for whom he supposedly has empathy.

If he's "not really on vacation," what is he doing in Hawaii at Christmas with his entire family, searching out his birth certificate???

Where would you suggest for a working vacation spot in December?

He's a yuppie type of President. Do you think he's going to spend it in a tacky place like Camp David ?

It's a working vacation. The president is always on duty. You're not being funny, BTW.

Here is an article comparing Obama and his predecessor's vacation styles.

Please learn to use the quote function properly. I'm tired of having to fix my posts when I quote you.

It is a working vacation. Quit twisting my words. Where would you suggest he go, you did not answer that question.
