This is one of the reasons why I dislike US culture so very much.

Get your priorities straight, it's STUFF.

Like Bush said, it would be easier if he were dictator for life.

But we don't have dictator in the US.
We have duly elected officials (except when Bush was selected by the SC).

This is not the 1700s.
Your comparison is ridiculous.

I'll never touch a gun in this life.
I don't need to and I have no desire to.

Oh for ford's sake, what delusional drivel.
Your choice not to ever touch a gun; and, no one is stopping you are they?

Interesting thing about that is a gun is a tool (a.k.a stuff) which can help one defend and protect life. Too bad you are unable to see that as well.

This number doesn't show anything. The US had always had a higher murder rate than other developed countries, even before gun control was implemented elsewhere. Have you seen any statistics indicating that murder rates dropped after gun bans were implemented? Note that criminals who use guns to make a living might not hand in their guns. Criminal gangs around the world appear to have no problem getting access to guns. And this is no surprise, given that 19th century Afghan tribesmen working with primitive lathes produced their own guns with which to fight the British Army. These days, second hand computer controlled grinding equipment that can fit easily into a 1-car garage can be purchased for a few thousand dollars.

Not true. Home burglary 1997 2:30am. 4 shots fired, perp took 3 of them. Cops showed up after the ambulance. To be fair to the cops it was at the ranch, and EMS station was only 5 mi away.

I would say guns did do more harm..but not more than the good they did. I and my family are alive, he's in jail.

The government IS THE PEOPLE. Hence the Constitution protects the people FROM those who would put the Government before the people.

And quite frankly, quite a bit, especially if I know they're comin'.

"According to the Center for Disease Control(CDC), In the year 2007:
Homicide with a firearm: 12,129
Suicide with a firearm: 17,348
Death by accidental discharge of firearm: 721
And roughly 5,000 deaths from legal interventions(I.E. police shooting criminals)"

Quit using 10-year and worldwide statistics to drum up support for a bigger police state. I don't care if half the morons in the world shoot their stupid noses off, I'm going to defend my life, my family, my property, and the principles of freedom the United States was founded on (but has been systematically abandoning). A government that knows its population is helpless is tyranny worth preventing at all costs.

The police are great at writing up the reports after the killing, rape and robbery is over. Before that, it's up to you to defend yourself and your family. I take no chances.

Really? I use multiple "automatic" weapons for target practice. I have also just acquired a "Ma-Duece" M2 to use for target practice from a private collector.

Maybe I just use bigger targets?
