You're right. Washington only fought the Redcoats for 8 years. A couple of hundred years later, the mujahideen fought the Soviet military to a draw after 8 years, after which Soviets withdrew, despite their lopsided advantage in tanks, bombers and helicopters. By the way, 9 years after we showed up in Afghanistan, we're still fighting the Taliban. Heck, black Christian rebels in South Sudan have been fighting the Arab Muslim government for 27 years, in the face of government tanks, bombers and helicopters.

Geez, after reading this thread I'm sure glad I don't live in the USA where there are more guns than there are people....That would make even me paranoid!..Hell, I don't even lock my doors at night, and have never had a problem...The chances of even a burglar having a gun here is remote...
