Is that an honest question? There are numerous Old and New Testament verses that condemn it. There are also numerous verses that condemn fornication. Since any sexual activity outside of marriage is immoral, it is immoral.

Of course you are. When you merely disagree with the dogmatic beliefs of a fundamentalist Christian, that means you're judging him and trying to force your values upon him.
However, when a fundamentalist Christian passes a law banning me (a homosexual) from being a public school teacher, serving in the military, getting married, adopting my husband's child, or allowing a business to refuse me service - that's not judgmental or forcing his beliefs on me. That's simply being moral and is actually an act of love.
I didn't judge anyone. I just don't like when people take the bible and read things into it that aren't there and say they are right and every one else is wrong.

Agreed 100%. This is the point I bring up to Christians who want to have a religious debate. Gotta ask them "have you ever considered what it means by King James Version?"
I do not think that a person's sexual orientation is a choice. It is not a hobby one takes up for the fun of it. (Although I confess that sex is fun, in all it's myriad forms!!! )
Gay people are not immoral. Some of the most admirable, talented, accomplished and moral individuals I have encountered are from the L/G/B/T community.
Quite frankly I have no patience for people trying to justify their hatred and bigotry against gay people. The name calling, the stereotyping, the defamation they express is in my book immoral !!!!!
How can people in this day and age have such a seething intolerance and contempt for gay people when we have members of this community in the US Congress, serving as Federal Judges, the mayors of large cities like Houston and Portland, as distinguished professors at major universities, brilliant musicians such as Leonard Bernstein and Aaron Copland, the top architects like Phillip Johnson, artists from Georgia O'Keefe, Andy Warhol, or Paul Cadmus, poets like Walt Whitman and W. H. Auden, playwrights such as Tennessee Williams or Edward Albee ...
I wish some people will step out of the darkness of prejudice and ignorance and into the sunshine of respect, kindness, and tolerance.

Homosexuals argue that their sexual preference is not a choice. And I agree with them. I do however believe that if they had these tendencies from birth. That would then make these tendencies, which are out of the norm, a mental deficiency.

Wrong. Just because something doesn't look right to you doesn't mean it's due to a "mental deficiency". Besides, the vast majority of medical professionals would disagree with what you've stated.
