To a conservative christian is certainly is. They feel the Constitution and the ideals of freedom and liberty it protects applies only to people who follow their particular brand of religious morality.

I agree, although it is too bad that for way too long they were/have been able to maintain, to some extent, the tyranny of the majority over minorities (be they women, blacks, Jews, atheists, homosexuals).
No need to "create" new words, we leave that to the Palins and Bachmanns of the world. For us there are whole dictionaries, filled to the bindings, with idoms, colloquialisms, and artful locutions from which to form eloquent, yet caustic, witticisms, biting repartee and sardonic retorts.
Can you explain how you "repress acceptance" without discriminating?
Discrimination would involve not hiring gays, not renting an apt to them, not being willing to provide medical care or insurance to them, etc. In other words, actions that interfere with that person's right to live their life. Live and let live.
Forcing "acceptance" on society involves indoctrinating my children with pro-homosexual ideology in the schools, which is against my values. You do not have the right to do that. I will try to "repress acceptance" of this ideology if you try to force it on me and my family, and in the process, interfere with MY right to live my life as I choose.
Tolerance, which has been the buzz word of homosexual activism, is not the same thing as acceptance. It used to be that all that was being asked was "tolerance" and somehow at some point in time, that was deemed not good enough; suddenly "acceptance" became the new requirement. That is just completely wrong.
ChattyPatty: No one is forcing your kids like that in schools. All "they" want is to be able to get married and be able to get the same "civil" rights like other married couples. Nothing to do with church or school. Churches are not going to marry them nor will they be forced.
