What's considered poor in Japan isn't the same as what's considered poor in Africa or even South or Southeast Asia. Much of those considered to be living in poverty is because of the high cost of living, but you don't have dilapidated shanty towns or rows of ghetto housing projects in Japan. It's a wealthy country with some of the best infrastructure and health care on Earth. You also have a strong central government that has a heavy hand in providing for it's citizenry.
In Japan right now people in much of the affected areas are being taken care of with food and supplies...They aren't being cut off from getting basic needs met. I have a friend in a coastal city north of Tokyo, right now--and she's said that basically the whole neighborhood is staying in a high school gym, but they've got plenty of food and supplies. Much of the looting after natural disasters is often because basic supplies aren't available in time...Plus you don't have the chronic poverty that leads to opportunistic looting in Japan and it's probably one of the most civil societies on Earth.
But to the people making the "only blacks loot " comments... Well, when the tsunami hit SE Asia, there was reports of looting in the aftermath in areas of Indonesia. And there was looting in Concepcion, Chile when the earthquake hit last year. And there was even reports of looting in Christchurch, New Zealand last month after the earthquake their two weeks ago. As I said earlier, after natural disasters, there is a possiblilty of looting, both for survival needs and for more criminal reasons.
But who are Americans or Europeans to talk---we have incidents of rioting and looting over things as trivial as sports championships.
It's high time people cut the crap with political correctness. People are afraid to admit that multiculturalism is a failure unless ALL of the people are one toward a SINGLE goal. With the politicians (of BOTH sides) in this country behaving as they have for decade after decade, we will never see that. They pit races, rich and poor, all AGAINST each other just to pad their pockets.
Black people have a higher crime rate, poverty rate, and most other bad statistics in this country because they have been fed A LOAD OF CRAP from the Democrat party, for the most part.
You need to teach a person to fish and not GIVE THEM FISH everyday to become dependent upon you for their survival.
I seriously feel badly for the black population in this country. Until they wake up and see what lies they have been fed by the Democrat party and the "progressives" over the last 40 years, they will never, ever climb out of the situation they are in now.
As for the Japanese people, they haven't been fed a load of crap because they haven't been subjected to the political whims of this country full of namby pambies for decades.
They have A SINGLE GOAL, and that is to survive, count on each other, and not rely on HANDOUTS from their government.
Yes, but they are two natural disasters that happened in tandem. There were bodies laying in plain view. Do you think people in the US would loot and riot with dead bodies laying in the street?
