The people have spoken loud and clear on this issue and you just don’t like what they have to say about it. I say put it to the vote and let the people decide.

Maine voted in 2009 and Iowa 2011 isn't looking so good for same sex marriage either. Let the people i.e. the voters decide.

The only argument that these closeminded, conservative Republicans and other homophobes can come with as to why Gay Marriage is wrong is that 'it's icky and isn't right'.

That argument holds no weight. It's only a matter of time before homosexuals are allowed to marry. It's not a distortion of marriage, but rather adding another layer of depth to it. How else are we going to get the masses of people to at least accept what's going on within the Gay community if awareness isn't brought up?

People act like the world is going to end if Gays are given the same rights and liberties as straight people. It's rather sickening watching someone attempt to justify the degradation of a group of people.

Stay classless, Republicans!

I think the point is, that with the passage of time, peoples opinions are changing. What people think today, may be different in the future. In the not too recent past people believed in separate but equal, now we can all pee together, regardless of colour.

Interesting to see how opinions have changed over just the last five years. And ten years ago, civil unions were seen as radical. The times are changing, for sure.
I find this link more accurate although it's older and it contains demographic breakdowns>>>>>

Americans' Acceptance of Gay Relations Crosses 50% Threshold

More men approve than women????? This is a GALLUP Poll....statistically valid with over 1,000 random participants.

Anti gays should learn to control their own lives rather than running around trying to control everyone else's. Luckily acceptance of homosexuality is starting to expand rather than returning to the thinking of the sixth century.

Many poll respondents thought the word “illegal” meant arrest and imprisonment, which most folks are against. This poll is not an accurate or conclusive “acceptance” for homosexual marriage by any stretch of the imagination.
