You know what the point is....but i'll be glad to point it out: The anti-war Left despise Bush...despise the Iraq war...and despise anyone who points out their hypocrisy. So, here I am, pointing out to you that the anti-war Left are celebrating the death of Osama bin Laden....which was made possible through a guy caught in Iraq as part of the Bush anti-terror strategy. But yet you won't offer one ounce of praise to that effect.

Comprende? Of course you do. Hypocrites always know their folly.

I really, really want to know how many anti-war Liberals will stand up and say "THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH!"

The answer, of course, will be none. And we all know its because hypocrisy and abject foolishness is the foundation of Liberal war policies.

So, i'll say it for you: Thank you President Bush for your anti-terror policies, your stance against Iraq, the capture of Hassan Ghul, and the ultimate killing of Osama Bin Laden.
What you failed to figure out is whether this guy caught in Iraq was in Iraq as a result of the invasion of Iraq. Iraq was not invaded because this guy was there. This guy was there because we invaded Iraq. It's a chicken and egg thing you know. So once you have that sorted out, come back here and report your findings. Before that, your thread is just an epic fail.

This gets a little complicated:

1) Bush deserves credit for attacking Al Qeda in Afghanistan in 2001 and scattering their forces.
2) Bush deserves scorn for abandoning the pursuit of Bin Laden and Al Queda in 2002-3 in order to invade Iraq.
3) Iraq was governed by Saddam, who was a secular Stalinist dictator, posing as a Muslim for political reasons. He was a sworn enemy of Al Qeda, who saw him as an apostate. Saddam was a back-stop against Al Qeda. When Bush removed him, it created a vacuum, that Al Qeda rushed into, joining the resulting civil war, and forming Al Qeda in Mesopotamia, an organization that did not exist prior to the Bush invasion.
4) It was this new off-shoot that Ghul was working for when he was captured by Kurdish troops on the Iranian border in 2004.
5) In 2006, Bush disbanded the CIA unit that was dedicated to the pursuit and capture of Obama.
6) During his campaign, Obama pledged to get Bin Laden, even if it meant a legally dubious incursion into a foreign country (like Pakistan, fer instance!)
7) This week, Obama made the gutsy call to launch the operation, and Bin Laden is dead.

So while Bush deserves some credit for the initial actions in Afghanistan, his still-inexplicable decision to detour into Iraq complicated and delayed Bin Laden's capture and death. Obama deserves tremendous credit for the cool intellect, coherent policy, and gutsy decision-making that resulted in Bin Laden's death.

Not bad for a "community organizer", huh?

It doesn't matter. Not at all. We took the fight to the terrorists. They showed up, we fulfilled our end of the deal. Now Osama is dead. The only failure is your ability to reconcile this inconvenient truth.

Only a fool would celebrate transformation of Iraq into yet another Al Qaeda haven. If anything, finding an Al Qaeda operative in Iraq and along Iranian border proves that both Al Qaeda and Iran have an influence on what now goes on inside Iraq.

So you're saying that we needed to spend billions of dollars, suffer multiple year-plus long deployments, thousands of dead and wounded servicemembers and untold dead and injured civilians to catch this one guy?
Okaaaay.

...if Bush had this info for all those years, why was he unable to finish OBL off?

It shouldn't be that surprising because after we went into Iraq to not go after Al Qaeda, AL Qaeda went into Iraq to hunt U.S troops.
