This wasn't your typical NY district. It is a long held GOP seat, that is the most Republican and conservative seat in the state. Despite losing nationally by more than 7, McCain won the district by about 6.

"In his analysis accompanying the recently released Annual Report of the Medicare Board of Trustees, Richard Foster, Medicare's chief actuary, noted that Medicare payment rates for doctors and hospitals serving seniors will be cut by 30% over the next three years. Under the policies of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, by 2019 Medicare payment rates will be lower than under Medicaid. You do realize that district's 2008 %margin for McCain was larger then the margin he had in the state of Georgia.

This evening I heard Charles Krauthammer say that when the author of the bill that they claimed was what the election was about explained it everybody could understand it but when others try few can understand. Now when Democrats do the explaining I guess few can understand since they do such a good job of lying about things.

Juan Williams had been trying to make the Dems look right but didn't even try to refute what Krauthammer said, at all.

Doesn't cover Buffalo proper, though it takes in some of the northern and eastern suburbs of Buffalo. The district basically connects portions of suburban Buffalo and suburban Rochester and rural areas in between.
