Well EU has 700+ million people and they all have national healthcare, how come?
Germany has 82 million people, still a lot, and much higher densely populated than America with national healthcare...

What's with this national healthcare thing? You still have to pay for it one way or the other.

We need to put signs up that let let the illegal Mexicans know this. Maybe they will keep going and bypass us right up into Canada.

You are pretty much comparing all of western Europe, made up of many countries with the one single country at question. Why not North America vs the EU.

Right wingers like to throw out that canard that a smaller homogenous population is easier to manage such a complex system like universal healthcare. It's baloney. It's all about how a nation allocates its resources. Canada is not even close to being as rich as the US but manages to provide their citizens with healthcare and proper schooling k-university. We can afford it being one of the top ten richest countries in the world.

We are providing a lot of their defense. That's why they've got the money for health care and we don't.

The EU is not a country. Each country has its own insurance system. And for the record, not all countries with universal health insurance are single payer.

I agree. And when they brining up homogeneity, they are admitting that regionalism, racism, and classicism is why conservatives are resistant to national programs like single payer or at least a single payer option.

That is nonsense. Canada doesn't need a lot of defense since it doesn't have hostile neighbors. Even if they increased defense spending, they would still have enough money for their health insurance. And most defense spending has nothing to do with actual need in response to a threat.
