Canadian cities consistently rank as the cleanest and the most livable in the world with Toronto, Ontario; Calgary, Alberta; and Vancouver, British Columbia routinely taking the top spot. If I get the chance to move to Canada I'll do it in a heartbeat. It's a perfect place to live if you ask me. I'll leave America to the teabaggers. I won't wait until they turn us into a Third World Country.
They obeyed the Crown instead of becoming a bunch of revolutionaries?

Funny you didn't mention that they have UHC for all citizens and the fact it lowers business costs. Something I'm sure you are vehemently opposed to. Gotta keep those health insurance monopolies rolling in the dough, heh.

Canada and more socialist European countries may be better for the average guy who doesn't really want to climb to the top or do anything special with his life. It's more secure in those terms.

Places like that would put a large dent in MY plans and standard of living. Bc I work my ass off and stick my neck out to get ahead. Those kinds of environments, while helpful to average joe, make it harder for success and real achievement.

But you know, life is a trade-off...no risk, no reward. Lots of people would rather be secure than have real reward.

Btw, I am endlessly amused at how people try to compare countries with tiny populations to one with 300 million people.

I'd say the reason Canada is a better country is simply because you have far fewer people. And the people that do live there are not assaulted with a daily barrage of what a wonderful country Canada is or why you must fight for "freedom" and the other clap trap the military industrial complex have indoctrinated the masses with we do here.
Or all the simple minded walking around with "Canada is Great" t-shirts on. Oops my bad, that would be here with the US flag emblazoned attire.

Yes, one begins to wonder whether such countries as Malta, Andorra, San Marino and Liechtenstein are going to get their own "better than the US" threads.

That is the dream that is sold here, but the odds are my friend that you will not be one of the very wealthy. Actually, there is a 95% chance that you will not. Your odds go up exponentially if you inherit the millions or billions, or if you hedge fund manager, or moneychanger.

If the damn globe would just tilt its axis and Canada end up where America is the population would zoom to half a billion overnight. As it is now 95% of the land is useless because of the frigid weather. Montreal has the right idea with their underground city that helps people cope with winter, but failing that most people couldn't get used to the sub-zero temps. That's the ONLY reason why I don't relocate there.

That is ABSOLUTELY the reason why I wouldn't move there. I have enough cold weather to deal with living in NE Ohio during the winter, and have no interest in moving further north!

They have a population of 30 Million.

You might want to investigate things like "Economies of Scale." You might be able to cook dinner for 8 people in your home, but let's just see how you do cooking for 800 people.

What's wrong with this: Canada...guns...education?

The first school shooting in North America took place in Canada, and Canada has had more per capita school shootings than the US.

In other words, your child is more likely to get shot in a Canadian school than in a US school.

Also Canada's murder rate isn't comparatively better. The per capita homicide rate in Canada is 1.9 per 100,000, but there are 5 States with a homicide rate equal or lower than Canada and another 4 States within one standard deviation, so Canada is not all that safer.

Canada is very resource based.
Oil, gas, coal, timber, potash and water. These are continuing to keep the economy strong.
Plus they have more conservative lending laws hence less risk to the banks. RP
