So, if Canada is so great, why are there so many Canadian's living and working here?
Canadian immigration laws are stricter than US immigration laws, and they're enforced, too.

Many Canadians identify with adjacent regions of the US more than they identify with other parts of Canada. For example, Vancouver residents will identify with Seattle more than they'll identify with Toronto (and definitely more than they'll identify with Montreal!) Residents of Alberta feel more in common with residents of Montana than with residents of the Maritimes for example. Likewise for Ontario and the Midwestern US.

Likewise, Seattle residents feel they have more in common with BC residents than they have in common with people from the Southern US. If a way, if the Confederacy had survived the Civil War, the remaining USA would probably resemble Canada. But that's another issue.

The one overwhelmingly de-facto reason why we're content up here and invade you only occasionally is our BEER!

Not me. Get me Landed Residence and I'd be a happy camper even in the dead of Winter. Unfortunately for me, I know it can't be done. I'm too old and not wealthy enough to meet the requirements. What would be the point of being illegal in Canada anyway? Illegals there don't get all the freebies like in the US.

What makes you think any of those countries would take Americans, and why should they? It's not as easy as many think.

When Europe shipped off all of the religious crazies back in the day, then sent them to the US and not Canada. That's the root cause of basically everything that's wrong in this country.

Since you claim this, tell me how to do it. I'm 67, a US citizen and want to live in Canada legally. You say it's easy, so how do I proceed? I'll be retired so I have no skills to market. I'm not wealthy, so I can't pony up the big bucks like the rich Chinese immigrants do. Is Canada waiting for me with open arms?

Canada won't let them in. They are not stupid.
