Boehner should never have been elected Speaker in the first place. The GOP went from a strict fiscal conservative in Newt Gingrich, who was only Speaker for three years, to a milquetoast spineless neo-conservative wimp in Speaker Hastert, and now compromising cry-baby Speaker Boehner who cannot wait to give away the store to the Democrats.

The very first words out of Boehner's mouth after the 2010 mid-term was "no compromise" on the 2001 tax cut extension. Yet three weeks later Boehner is giving the Democrats $120 billion in NEW FY2011 spending for their vote on the tax cut extension.

Now Boehner expects true conservatives to swallow a $24 billion reduction in the growth of spending (not even an actual cut in spending) for FY2012 and an additional $1.2 trillion reduction in growth over the next decade. Meanwhile the National Debt will continue to increase, and the budget and deficits will continue to grow. During this same ten year period that Congress would be reducing the amount of growth by $1.2 trillion, we will have added an additional $14 to $15 TRILLION more to the National Debit. The interest payments on the National Debt will far exceed Defense spending. Only a complete idiot could buy into that nonsense.

I am strongly urging Rep. Don Young to vote against this farce of a budget deal. The August 2, 2011 deadline is completely artificial anyway. Revenues do not stop coming in, and there is sufficient revenue to pay for Social Security, MediCare/MedicAid, the military, and the interest payments on the National Debt with about $40 billion left over.

As long as they keep funding levels exactly as they are today, there is no need to increase the debt limit. The ONLY reason to increase the debt limit is if they intentionally plan to go further and further into debt in the very near future.

Because the Dems won't compromise and support it. Would you prefer a bill the Tea Party strongly supports?

What a bunch of idiots.
Unfortunately Obama presented no such deal. If he had there would have been an agreement.

The wet dreams of the republican party being split are just that, wet dreams. It's the same as the anti-war folks splitting from Obama.

Elections have consequences!

Unfortunately for you, we got rid of the majority of Progressive Republicans, last November 2nd.

The Moderates don't have the votes, period.

Better get on that balanced budget amendment.

All that "foreign aid" will not go out.

No wonder all the other nations want to penalize us for not borrowing to pay them, for nothing.

Heard today on CNBC that we have higher than expected tax revenues and that Aug. 2nd isn't really the drop dead date anyway. It's more like Aug. 9th. That is why August 2nd means nothing to me and nothing to any rational person.

At least he's coming up with plans.

Cut, Cap and Balance is where it's at. Talk to your buddy Reid about that one.

They really screwed the pooch on that one, no doubt about it. It will be their undoing in 2012.

He can't control his own party in the House. That leaves him with two choices either forge a deal that can pass with the help of Democratic House members or nothing gets passed.

Boehener has already assured the American people that the debt ceiling is going to get passed. So what does he do know?
