Either they are too stupid to realize that taking credit for America's credit rating downgrade is anti-Ameriacan, or they were too stupid to comprehend what their speaker said.

If there was ever a question of this group's patrionism this shows it.

So are they anti-American or just plain stupid? Or both?
You forgot choice C: gold medalists in narrow-minded thinking.

There is no land of liberals up thar' in the blue parts and land of god fearing con jobs down in these here red parts. Even the reddest of red states is 40 percent "liberal." Same goes for blue states.

And can your sermon about sharing. It's Bags and Cons who need to learn how to share. If you ever did get your way and America was broken up, Bags would be screaming about the opposite political factions in whatever states they found themselves.

And restructuring how billions flow thru/ HUD.

Start w/ those 3 departments and find the fluff there FIRST.

Oh - I forgot! That would mean ending programs and gubment employees losing their taxpayer funded jobs.

We are to blame for this. Its easy to point fingers at the politicians in Washington. We always talk about how they aren't compromising on their stances. We always talk about how they are so far apart on their ideals.

It is not their ideals. It is our ideals.

Just look within the microcosm that is our city-data community. How often are we saying:

- You cannot raise taxes! It will cripple job growth!
- You cannot lower entitlements! You'll cripple the unemployed, elderly or lower income Americans!

Our small community here is a great example of what politicians in Washington see and hear from their own constituents. Americans have been using the "No new taxes! Don't lower my entitlements" battle slogan for a long time. They are forced to abide by those or face losing election. (No, I don't have sympathy for our politicians in Washington. Many are still scum of the earth.)

We created this problem. It took years to catch up to us. Fiscal responsibility begins with acceptance that there is a problem and sacrifices need to be made by all.

At the very least, change your battle slogans to:
- DON'T RAISE TAXES by too much
- DON'T CUT ENTITLEMENTS by too much
The short answer is Pelosi, Reid and Obama. And here's why. Credit worthiness is all about sustainability. In other words how much debt can you afford such that you have a reasonable chance of servicing that debt? Traditionally for the U.S. that number has been between 18 and 19% of GDP. Then along comes the Pelosi/Reid/Obama spending spree financed by astronomical borrowing. Under Obama the debt-to-GDP ratio has been pushed to 25% as far as the eye can see. S&P looked at that and said it is not sustainable. And they're right.

Everyone is to blame, including the American people at large, Democrats and Republicans, etc. But it's VERY CLEAR that it is the tea party that pushed the boat over the edge, and are running this country into the ground. Yet about 1/3 of people are stupid enough to believe their lies and propaganda.
